I love side hustles, I have another post with a lot more ideas here. Side hustles are a great way to boost your income alongside your full time or part time job. Some can take up a lot more of your time. If you don’t have a lot of spare time and you’re looking for something to fit around your kids or work, I have put together these 5 ideas you can do in the evenings once the kids have gone to bed.
These ideas don’t take long at all and you can just try one each evening.
These can be done once you have at down with a cup of tea watching TV. There are lots of sites to try but the main two I find most profitable are Valued Opinions and Prolific. Valued Opinions pays out in vouchers, with a variety of retailers to choose from. Prolific pays out in cash and tends to have higher paying surveys. I find that both of these have lots of surveys readily available to me, I normally do a few each evening and the earnings soon add up.
2. Sell your DVDs and CDs
We all have a collection of DVDs that we have watched so many times or CDs we have listened to since the 90s! Time to round them all up and get rid of them. You can sell them via Music Magpie. You can download the app to your phone and scan each item in. This doesn’t take long at all, its also a good start for decluttering your home. Once you have scanned all the DVDs and CDs, you just need to box them and get sent to Music Magpie. The good thing with this site is they can collect the box for you so you don’t even need to leave the house.
3. Make use of Cashback Sites
Cashback sites are an easy way to make extra money. If you do any online shopping, always go through either Quidco or Top Cashback. Both of these sites give you back a percentage of the amount you spent just by clicking through their website first.
This doesn’t take up any of your time as you were going online anyway to make a purchase. This isn’t a quick way to make money as the cashback can take a couple of months to process but if you do it all the time, you will have a decent amount of cashback coming back to you throughout the year.
4. Download Smartphone Apps
There are lots of apps you can download to make money. Two that I have are so easy to use, these are Vypr and People.io.
Vypr – with this app, you just answer yes or no to a question and build up points. It really is that simple! Once you reach 10,000 points, you can cash out £5. I know that sounds like a lot of points but it doesn’t take long to reach this. I’ve only been using it a few weeks and I’m already close to cashing out for the third time.
People.io – this is the same idea as Vypr but you answer 20 questions each time and build up points the same way. With this app, you can exchange the points for vouchers instead of cash but there is a large variety of retailers to chose from. 1500 points will get you a £10 voucher. I’ve only just started using this app and I’m very close to cashing out for the first time.
5. Matched Betting
This side hustle may take you a while to get your head around. I did lots of reading about it before giving it a go. Its one side hustle I wish I’d stated a lot sooner than I did. You can read my matched betting post here if you want to find out more about it.
If you only do this in the evenings when the kids are in bed, you can still make a decent income. Just one evening a week can bring in an extra £100 a month.
This is my favourite side hustle as its really easy when you get in to it. There are two sites that can really help with your journey and help to increase your earnings, these are MatchedBets and Profit Accumulator.
So there are 5 ways to help boost your income with side hustles that won’t take up too much of your time.
